Explain the decisions.
You should know why we chose an approach, what it costs us, and what we still need to find out.
A small software company with two lines of work: consulting and independent game development.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN DEVI run Rocky Mountain Dev. I help clients build software, and I’m developing Dust to Life.
On consulting projects, I work through the technical decisions with you and write the code. I like understanding the problem before deciding how much software it needs.
Dust to Life started with a question: what would it be like to play with the conditions that make stars, planets, and life? I’m building the simulation and the game around that question.
If you have a project to discuss, or want to talk about the game, you can reach me at contact@rockymountaindev.com.

Time and budgets are real. I’d rather finish a smaller, useful piece of work than leave a larger one half done.
If an idea depends on something we haven’t proved, build a small version and find out before committing to the rest.
